Download your data (portability)
Take everything your organisation has created in Timlup in a single JSON file: who can do it, what it includes, what it leaves out and how to open it.
Updated on
Your data belongs to you, and Timlup makes it easy to take a copy with you whenever you need it. This guide explains how to download your data as a JSON file, what you’ll find inside, and what to do before you delete your account.
Where it is and who can use it
In the Timlup panel, go to Mi perfil (My profile), then find the Tus datos (Your data) section just above the Zona de peligro (Danger zone). Click Descargar mis datos (JSON) (Download my data) and the file will be generated for you.
The download is available to the account owner and to administrators. It won’t appear or work in borrowed sessions, such as a shared account or a support session on your account – you’ll need to download from your own account. It works on every plan, including the Free plan, so no paid subscription is required.
What the file contains
You’ll receive a single JSON file named timlup-datos-<business>-<date>.json. Inside, you’ll find:
- Organisation data: name, tax details and current plan.
- Sites, including opening hours, time zone and GPS point if set.
- Time slots, areas and tags.
- Team members: name, email, role, site and position – never their PIN.
- Checklists, with recurrence, time slot, late margin and assignment.
- Tasks for each checklist: type, unit, range and instructions.
- Daily checklist history: status, who signed, time, score and approval.
- Tasks from each historical checklist: whether marked, time, measured value, exception, note and photo reference.
- Corrective actions.
- Notification subscriptions and external recipients, without the unsubscribe link.
The file also includes a count of records per table and a short note explaining what’s included.
What it does not contain (and why)
For security and privacy, a few things are deliberately left out. Employee PINs are never exported, and unsubscribe links for alerts are excluded because anyone holding the link could unsubscribe that person. Internal billing data – such as Stripe identifiers and manual plan notes – is not part of the download.
Photos are not embedded in the JSON either. Each task with a photo carries a reference, and you can view or download the image from the checklist history in the panel. If any part of the file couldn’t be read, the panel will tell you the download is partial; in that case, try again or email info@timlup.pro.
How to open the JSON
A JSON file isn’t a PDF or a CSV, but it’s easy to work with. Open it in any text editor, import it into Excel or Google Sheets using their JSON import options, or hand it to a developer for further processing. If you need a simple CSV of specific checklists, use the exports in Métricas (Metrics) and Reportes (Reports) instead.
Download before deleting the account
Downloading your data doesn’t delete anything – it’s a safe, read-only copy. However, if you’re planning to remove your account, the Zona de peligro (Danger zone, owner only) offers no undo. Download your file first, and keep it somewhere safe before you confirm the deletion.
Frequently asked questions
How do I download all my data?
Go to Mi perfil (My profile), scroll to Tus datos (Your data) and click Descargar mis datos (JSON). The file is generated immediately, though large histories can take a few seconds. You’ll receive a single JSON file containing all the information listed above.
What does the download include?
The download covers your organisation, sites, team, checklists, tasks, history, corrective actions and notification subscriptions. It excludes PINs, unsubscribe links, internal billing details and photo images, though photo references are included so you can retrieve them from the panel.
Can I download my data on the Free plan?
Yes, absolutely. The download is available on every plan, including Free, with no payment required. As long as you’re the owner or an administrator of the account, you can export your data at any time.
