Completing and Submitting a Checklist

Mark tasks, record values, use 'No aplica' (Not applicable) or 'No se puede' (Can't be done), attach photos, and sign the final submission.

Updated on

Completing and submitting a checklist is the daily action that closes out your tasks in Timlup. Here’s how to do it step by step, from checking off each item to the final signature, so everything is recorded correctly and without confusion.

Marking tasks and entering values

In each checklist you’ll find two types of elements: tasks, which are marked with a checkbox, and record logs, which require a numeric value. For tasks, simply tap the checkbox and it will be marked. For record logs, type the corresponding number in the enabled field. If the value you enter falls outside the range defined by the manager, the app itself will warn you with a message so you can review it before continuing.

The exceptions: «No aplica» (Not applicable) and «No se puede» (Can’t be done)

There are days when a task or record log can’t be completed because it doesn’t apply. In those cases, Timlup lets you use the «No aplica» or «No se puede» exceptions. When you select one of these options, the task is considered resolved for submission purposes, but it is recorded as an exception. The manager will see that mark in their Resumen (Summary) panel and will know it wasn’t done for a justified reason. This way you avoid blocking the checklist submission because of an item that doesn’t apply that day.

Evidence photos

Each task or record log has the option to attach a photo as evidence. It’s optional, but highly recommended when you need to visually demonstrate that the work was done. The photo is linked to the specific task and the manager can view it from their panel. Make sure the image is clear and relevant.

Submitting the checklist and signing

When all tasks and record logs are resolved (marked, with a value, or with an exception), the «Enviar lista» (Submit list) button appears. If the checklist is configured to require a signature, you’ll see the «Firma con tu nombre para enviar» (Sign with your name to submit) field. Type your name and tap submit. The signature is a mandatory requirement on those checklists; without it, the submission can’t be completed. Once submitted, the checklist moves to «Conforme» (on time) or «Retrasada» (late) status depending on the schedule, and it can no longer be modified.

Location verification

Some checklists include location verification. When you enable it and submit the checklist, Timlup checks whether your device is less than 250 meters from the defined location point. The system only stores the result: «dentro» (inside) or «fuera» (outside). Your exact coordinates are never recorded at any time, so your privacy is protected. If you’re outside the range, the checklist will still be submitted, but the manager will see that issue in the panel.

Frequently asked questions

How do you sign a checklist?

You just need to type your name in the «Firma con tu nombre para enviar» field right before tapping the «Enviar lista» button. If that field doesn’t appear, the checklist doesn’t require a signature and you can submit it directly.

What do «No aplica» and «No se puede» mean?

They are exceptions used when a task or record log can’t be completed. «No aplica» indicates that the task doesn’t apply in that context; «No se puede» indicates there’s a specific obstacle. In both cases, the task is marked as an exception and doesn’t block submission.

Are photos mandatory?

No. Photos are optional on all tasks and record logs. You can submit the checklist without attaching any images. That said, if the manager needs visual evidence, they will ask you for it explicitly.

What does location verification record?

It only stores whether you were «dentro» or «fuera» of the 250-meter radius of the location. Your exact coordinates are never stored. The result is shown to the manager along with the checklist status.
