Late margin and starting tasks early
The window to sign late, the automatic closing as «No completada» (not completed), and the option to let the team start before the scheduled time.

In Timlup, each checklist has a time slot. But real life doesn’t always fit the schedule. That’s why there’s the delay margin and the option to advance tasks. Here’s how they work.
How the delay margin works
The delay margin is the number of minutes after the end time during which the checklist can still be sent. If an employee presses “Send checklist” within that window, the checklist does not become «Conforme» (on time), but «Retrasada» (late).
By default, the margin is 45 minutes. You can change it for each checklist: it’s not a global value. If you set the margin to 0, the checklist closes hard at its end time, without an extra minute.
Automatic closing
When the delay margin runs out, the checklist closes on its own. It changes to the «No completada» (not completed) state and no longer accepts submission, even if the work was done. If no one signs on time, that checklist is marked as not completed.
Automatic closing of overdue checklists runs every hour on the server. It’s not a process that runs at the exact minute, but it runs periodically.
If you want to be notified when a checklist expires without being signed, you can set up an email alert from the Notificaciones (Notifications) screen.
Advance tasks (starting early)
Sometimes the team arrives early and wants to get ahead on work. That’s what the “Advance tasks” option is for.
If you enable it, employees can open and complete the checklist before its start time. If you don’t enable it, the checklist is visible but remains locked until its time arrives.
Choosing the right margin
The perfect margin depends on each checklist. Here’s a reference:
| State | When it happens |
|---|---|
| «Conforme» | The checklist is sent within its time slot. |
| «Retrasada» | The checklist is sent during the delay margin. |
| «No completada» | The margin runs out without anyone sending the checklist. |
A short margin of 5 or 10 minutes works for critical checklists that must close almost on time. A long margin of 30 or 45 minutes provides flexibility when there are unexpected events. And a margin of 0 is for when you want the end time to be a strict limit.
Think about it per checklist: not all need the same tolerance. Combine them according to the type of task.
Frequently asked questions
What is the delay margin?
It’s the extra time after the end time during which the checklist can still be sent. If it’s signed within that window, it remains as «Retrasada».
What happens if no one signs the checklist?
If the margin runs out without anyone sending the checklist, it closes automatically as «No completada». It can no longer be sent, even if the work was done.
Can the team start before the scheduled time?
Yes, if you enable the “Advance tasks” option. Without it, the checklist is visible but remains locked until its start time.
Can I set the margin to zero?
Yes. With a margin of 0, the checklist closes hard at its end time, without any extra minute.
