Weekly frequency

The weekly cleaning your café needs (and that the daily plan doesn't cover)

Organise and record backflush, descaling, and deep cleaning of fridges with Timlup.

Free plan includes these tasks (daily + weekly). Day-to-day cleans the surface; weekly gets to where daily can't: seals, filters, and a thorough fridge clean. Signed with a PIN upon completion, everything recorded in the dashboard.

Why weekly cleaning?

The difference between cleaning every day and cleaning every week

Daily cleaning of your café (counter, daily coffee machine, display cabinet) is essential. But there's an intermediate layer you can't skip: the weekly clean. We're talking about backflushing the espresso machine, changing group seals and showers, deep cleaning the milk fridges, and descaling.

With Timlup's Free plan, you have both daily and weekly tasks covered. If you need more frequency or monthly/yearly tasks, the Pro plan includes them. Each task is signed with a PIN and recorded in the dashboard for your peace of mind.

Specific tasks: espresso machine, grinder, milk fridges, counter drains. The manager can see in the dashboard who did what and when, without paperwork or forgetfulness.

Why Timlup

Simplify your weekly cleaning

Timlup helps you not to forget the critical tasks each week and to keep a record of them.

Weekly cleaning included in the Free plan

Timlup includes weekly tasks as standard (backflush, seals, milk fridges, descaling) alongside daily ones. You don't need to pay extra for a complete routine that protects your coffee and your machinery.

Never forget what's due each week

Automatic recurrence reminds you what to do every week. You receive notifications, and if someone skips a task, the dashboard reflects it. This prevents backflushing or descaling from being neglected.

Traceability and signed record

Each weekly task is completed and signed with a PIN. Everything is documented in the dashboard: who, when, and what they did. Timlup does not certify cleaning nor is it an official HACCP system, but it helps you demonstrate that you follow a rigorous work plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about weekly café cleaning

We answer your questions about frequency, HACCP and how Timlup helps you.

How often should you do the weekly café cleaning?
The weekly clean includes backflushing with detergent, checking group seals and shower screens, deep cleaning the milk fridges, and descaling. This is the minimum recommended frequency to maintain coffee quality and equipment lifespan. If you also follow a HACCP plan, this cadence fits perfectly with standard cleaning and disinfection guidelines.
How is it different from daily café cleaning?
Daily cleaning takes care of the counter, the group of the day, the display cabinet, and the surfaces of the fridges. Weekly goes further: deep backflush of the espresso machine, cleaning of group seals and showers, thorough cleaning of milk fridges (shelves, seals, trays), and descaling of the equipment. It's an extra layer of hygiene that the daily routine doesn't cover.
Is the weekly cleaning included in Timlup's free plan?
Yes, the Free plan includes both the daily and weekly tasks we've just described. If you need monthly or yearly tasks too, you'd need to upgrade to the Pro plan. We don't offer a fortnightly cadence; weekly is the only intermediate frequency included in the free version.
How often should you backflush the espresso machine?
Water backflushing is recommended daily to clean coffee residues. But detergent backflushing (deeper) should be done at least once a week. It's key to prevent oil and bacteria buildup in the group and maintain espresso quality.
Is Timlup a certified HACCP system?
No. Timlup helps document and organise cleaning tasks, but it does not certify or replace a HACCP advisor. The records it generates (PIN-signed and dated) can serve as evidence in audits, but the responsibility for implementing a proper HACCP system is yours. We recommend keeping records for at least one year, in line with Regulation (EC) 852/2004 and FSA guidelines.
How long does the weekly café cleaning take?
Approximately 4 hours 10 minutes in total, split between coffee machine (backflush, seals, showers, descaling), cold and milk (thorough fridge cleaning), display and counter (glass and surface cleaning), floors and back area (scrubbing and disinfection), plus the time to log in the app. Exact timings depend on the equipment and staff, but this estimate gives you a realistic idea.
